May 15 Route 66 trip

We had a later start today with brunch at IHOP. We got out of town at 12:00 it was 84 degrees.
We got to Geary, OK to see a log cabin jail & the museum. But the museum was close & we went into the county commissioners office of Melba Nance. She and 2 other office women were very hospitable & called 3 different people to come open up the museum for us. They visited with us while we waited.

Then we went to the Route 66 museum in Clinton, OK

Off we went down the road again to Elk City. The weather was starting to turn ugly & the Walgreen sign read “Tornado warning for 2 to 10pm. We decided to try to make it to Shamrock, TX but as we drove down the highway we decided to get a hotel in Erick to wait out the storm.
As it turns out Shamrock got slammed. So here we are here for the night.
